In Love: Whitney+Chris

Normally the winter months are a little slower for me but this year has been so different. We started with the bridal show in portland in January and life just keeps getting busier. Jason and I are in the process of buying our first home. I'll keep you all posted on that adventure! We also just returned from a vacation to California to visit my family. We had a wonderful time despite all the rain, those pictures coming soon! And now we are entering engagement session season for 2011.

There are still things I need to blog from 2010 but I wanted to share this session from Saturday. It was only about 30 degrees and there were 25mph winds but you would have no idea by just looking at these photos. We only shot for about 30 minutes but Whitney and Chris rocked in front of a camera! I was really impressed by these two! I can't wait to see the magic that will take place on their wedding day :)

Here's some recent tips I shared with my clients regarding what to wear on their engagement session. I hope they are helpful to you too!

Comfort - Wear something that makes you feel good! If you are uncomfortable I promise it will show in your images.

Layers - Layers really do look the best. From layered t-shirts to vests, jackets, scarves, or necklaces, anything goes! They will add more dimension to the photos. They also make for a quick outfit change.

Solids - Solid colors look much better than anything with a pattern. We want the images to focus on you, not your clothing.

Colors- Colors look and photograph better than pure white. Wear complimenting colors and styles but under no circumstances should you two match exactly. Unless you dress that way everyday :)
